Brooks Macdonald hires private wealth manager for Guernsey office

Business-Handshake-General-Hire-Appointment-700x450.jpgBrooks Macdonald has appointed investment veteran Toby Birch as private wealth manager of its Channel Islands offices.

In his new role, Birch will work on clients’ pensions and portfolios in Guernsey.

Most recently, Birch was founder of Guernsey Gold, a physical gold bullion dealer to high-net-worth individuals, trust companies and family offices. He sold the business in 2015.

Before that, Birch held investment management and executive roles at Swiss private lender Julius Baer for seven years, as well as working at family office Blackfish Capital Holdings. He was also a director of the Blackfish Investec Resources Special Situations fund investing in smaller mining stocks.
