BNP Paribas Asset Management hires ex-Pioneer CEO

BNP Paribas Asset Management has created a new global sales head role appointing Sandro Pierri, a former chief executive with Pioneer Investments.

As global head of client group based in London, Pierri will report to chief executive Frédéric Janbon.

Pierri was chief executive of retail for Italy at ING Investment Management before it was acquired by Unicredit/Pioneer.

He subsequently spent over 10 years with Pioneer Investments in a number of distribution and leadership roles, before becoming chief executive and head of UniCredit’s Asset Management Division between 2012 and 2015.

Pierri has held a number of non-executive advisory directorships over the last year and will start with BNP Paribas in September.

Janbon says: “He brings a wealth of experience in the global asset management industry, notably in sales, and he will be instrumental in supporting our development strategy to become a leading provider of quality investment solutions for individual, corporate and institutional investors.”
