BMO GAM promotes Wilson to chief executive and CIO role

Business-General-Handshake-Hire-Appointment-700x450.jpgRichard Wilson has been appointed chief executive and chief investment officer at BMO Global Asset Management.

Wilson, who was previously chief executive of the EMEA division for BMO Global, takes on the new role immediately.

Wilson was previously chief executive of F&C before it was acquired by BMO Financial Group. Prior to that he was head of equities and head of investment and institutional at F&C.

Gilles Ouellette, group head of wealth management at BMO Financial Group, says: “We’re pleased to appoint Richard Wilson as CEO and CIO of BMO Global Asset Management. His 30 years of experience in asset management and track record of developing innovative products, building high performance teams and delivering outstanding client service has been a tremendous asset for BMO.”

Rajiv Silgardo, who is currently co-chief executive at BMO Global Asset Management, has resigned from the firm, effective from the start of August. He leaves after seven years at the firm, during which time he helped to launch the asset manager’s ETFs range.

Wilson says: “I am very pleased to be taking over the helm at BMO Global Asset Management, which is well positioned for growth. I am confident we will deliver strong results, outstanding client solutions and market leading performance.”
