Axa IM Rosenberg Equities appoints head of sustainable investing

Wind-Green-Environment-Ecology-Windmill-700.jpgAxa Investment Managers’ Rosenberg Equities has appointed Kathryn McDonald as head of sustainable investing in keeping with its drive to integrate ESG awareness into all of the portfolios by the end of this year.

McDonald was previously director of investment strategy for the investment team having joined Axa IM in 1999.

Axa IM Rosenberg Equities will work alongside Axa IM’s responsible investment team to build on ESG considerations within the portfolios. Axa IM Rosenberg Equities first adopted an ESG-aware approach in the mid-1990s.

Kathleen Houssels, global CIO of Axa IM Rosenberg Equities, says: “From a primarily economic perspective, we see ESG data as a natural complement to the traditional financial statement information that forms the backbone of our views on companies. Our research shows that ESG factors can be an incremental source of value add and risk reduction. ESG information is naturally long-term and therefore fits well with our fundamental investment philosophy.”

Heidi Ridley, CEO of Axa IM Rosenberg Equities, adds: “We believe the winners of the future will be well-run companies that successfully adapt to tomorrow’s challenges.

“The move to full ESG integration by Axa IM Rosenberg Equities is fully in line with Axa IM’s overarching convictions and commitment to investing responsibly. We are excited to lead the way in further embedding ESG across Axa IM’s investment processes and strategies.”
