Axa IM appoints global product head as teams merge

General-Business-People-Hire-Appointment-700x450.jpgAxa Investment Management has promoted Bettina Ducat as its global head of product retail and institutional development as part of a team merger.

The client group team, made of 288 staff, was previously divided into two business lines, a retail and institutional team. Ducat, who led the retail and wholesale team, will now head the new and “more agile” group which will comprise both markets.

By aligning the two groups, the business division will now have more consistency on Axa’s global sales strategy around products and sales by client segment, the firm says.

Axa IM global head of client group Christophe Coquema says: “This structural change will improve our ability to integrate global strategies with local implementation which is crucial as we work to leverage our growing global reach.

“The client group has played an instrumental role in AXA IM’s growth momentum over the past few years and I’m confident that Bettina’s extensive knowledge of both our clients and our business makes her the ideal person to support our continued growth in 2016 and beyond.”

Ducat says: “The most successful asset managers, both today and in the future, are those that are able to develop the strongest relationships with their customers.

“Understanding client demands and ensuring that we have the right investment capabilities to meet their evolving needs is the raison d’être of the Client Group.  This will remain our mission as we continue our work to globalise AXA IM’s footprint both in terms of growing our third party business and serving the needs of AXA Group around the world.”
