Axa Investment Managers has appointed David Shaw deputy manager of its American Growth fund.
Shaw replaces Dan Harlow, who has joined the Axa Framlington UK Smaller Companies fund, following the departure of Henry Lowson last month.
Shaw joins from Aerion Fund Management where he was co-manager of the £900m North American Equity fund.
At Axa IM, he will report to the fund’s lead manager and head of US strategies Stephen Kelly.
Global head of Axa IM Framlington equities Mark Beveridge says Shaw’s experience in US equities will complement the existing team, while “adding a fresh perspective”.
Shaw says: “The US remains one of the most dynamic and innovative markets in the world, especially in the technology and healthcare sectors.”
