Aviva Investors has boosted its global equities team with L&G Investment Management fund manager Helen Driver.
Driver, who will report to Aviva Investors’ global head of equities Chris Murphy, will focus on high-conviction large cap allocation for both the global equity portfolio and the multi-strategy offering at the asset manager.
At LGIM, Driver managed the UK Real Income Builder fund.
The fund, which launched for external investors on 4 April this year, will continue to be managed by LGIM head of active equity Lance Phillips and his team.
Before joining LGIM, Driver held investment and client servicing roles with Standard Life Investments, where she spent more than 12 years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Aviva has been boosting its global equity team since July, when it recruited Giles Parkinson from Artemis to become global equities fund manager.
It follows a cut of 20 staff from fixed income earlier this year as the firm said it wanted to concentrate on “key areas of focus” such as multi-asset.
Commenting on the appointment, Murphy says: “[Driver] brings strong expertise in building and managing equity portfolios and a proven track record in successful stock selection.
“I am certain she will make a significant contribution to the team as we continue to develop our global equities proposition.”
