Artemis has promoted William Tamworth as co-manager of the firm’s £343m UK Smaller Companies fund, currently managed by Mark Niznik.
Tamworth joined the firm a year ago to help Niznik with the fund.
Tamworth started his career as an equity analyst at Citigroup for the UK small and mid-cap team.
In 2009 Tamworth then joined investment banking and research firm Liberum.
Niznik, who has been managing the fund since 2007, says: “Will joined Artemis just over a year ago to help me with this fund. His promotion to co-manager recognises his contribution.”
The fund has returned 27 per cent over the past three years to February 2016, versus an IA UK Smaller Companies sector average of 33.8 per cent, according to Lipper.
