Architas adds trio to investment team ahead of fund launch

General-Business-People-Hire-Appointment-700x450.jpgArchitas has made three appointments within its investment team, including the promotion of Alex Burn to investment manager ahead of the soon-to-be-launched Global Equity Income fund.

Burn, who has been an investment analyst since 2013, will co-manage the Multi-Asset Passive range alongside lead manager and deputy CIO Sheldon MacDonald and Stephen Allen as well as co-managing the new Global Equity Income fund.

Julie Lamirel has joined as a senior investment manager to oversee the Architas portfolios distributed in Belgium and Richard Chiang has been appointed quantitative analyst. Both will report to CIO Jaime Arguello.

Lamirel joins from Axa IM where she spent 11 years, most recently as deputy manager of the Axa World Funds Framlington Talents Global fund. Chiang was previously an analyst at Standard Chartered Bank where he had been since 2014.

Arguello says: “Julie has significant investment management experience, which makes her well placed to take on the existing multi-manager portfolios we offer in Belgium. Alex has been an investment analyst in the team for the past four years covering a wide range of countries and asset classes so it is great to now see him promoted to an investment manager. He will provide support to the senior investment management team we have running the portfolios we offer in the UK.

“Richard’s is a new role that will strengthen our investment process by focusing on quantitative and risk analysis. Quantitative components of our process include fund screening as well as performance and risk analysis. In addition, Richard will support fund selection of pure quantitative strategies and implement our risk process for our managed solutions.”
