The Association of Investment Companies has announced Rachel Beagles will become chairwoman of the industry body in January.
Beagles replaces Peter Arthur, who was appointed chair in 2014.
Beagles has been an investment company director since 2006 and joined the AIC board in January 2015.
She says the AIC plays an important role in promoting the merits of the investment company sector and tackling the regulatory issues.
“I believe passionately in the attractions of investment companies and I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to represent the AIC’s members’ interests,” Beagles says.
William Hemmings has also been appointed deputy-chair elect and will take up the position at the same time Beagles takes over from Arthur.
Hemmings says he has been involved with the management of investment companies for over 25 years.
“I hope that I have been able to provide constructive input to the Board over the years and I look forward to continuing to do so.”
Arthur wished Beagles and Hemmings “every success” in their roles.
“The investment company industry has grown from strength-to-strength, and I’m sure the AIC will continue its hard work to ensure the industry and its shareholders prosper.”
