Aberdeen expands distribution team with new hires

Campbell Fleming AberdeenAberdeen Asset Management has made a number of hires to strengthen its global distribution team following the recent hire of former Columbia Threadneedle’s Campbell Fleming.

The group has added John Campbell as global head of strategic clients reporting to Fleming, the global head of distribution at the firm.

Campbell was the chairman of Scottish Financial Enterprise after working 16 years at State Street and most recently as business head of global services for the UK, Middle East and Africa.

Aberdeen has also hired Jeff Klepacki, previously at Capital Group, Delaware Investments and Allianz Global Investors, as its head of distribution for Americas reporting to Bev Hendry and Fleming. The firm currently manages over $65bn (£51.4bn) in the region.

In addition, former chief executive BNP Paribas Investment Partners and FundQuest chief Antony John and Richard Pursglove, who has held senior distribution roles at various firms, will join on a consultancy basis.

Fleming says: “Aberdeen is one of the few global asset managers to offer such a comprehensive range of investment capabilities from equities and fixed income through to property, alternatives and multi-asset portfolios.

“We’ve got to map these to the specific needs of our clients. The whole team globally is going to be focussed on doing this and these new appointments will really help those efforts.”
